Fawn and Nymph by Hans Zatzka
Many of Zatzka's works were religious paintings and altarpieces dedicated to various churches in Austria. However, he is more known for his paintings of women, fairies, and other fantastical scenes. Often, he would draw inspiration from Richard Wagner’s works and the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tales.
Essentially nature spirits, nymphs are female and fauns are male. The nymphs were usually associated with fertile, growing things, such as trees, or with water. The name faun is derived from Faunus, the name of an ancient Italic deity of forests, fields, and herds.
🔱 Twelve (12) mini (20 gram) skeins of Aussie Extra Fine Sock with Nylon were dyed to "fade" from one colorway to the next in gorgeous sea colors inspired by Sea Mythology.
*Please note this has the same selection of colors as Poseidon's Nereids, with the addition of 11 & 12*
🔱 1 Seahorse stitch marker + 1 Nautilus progress keeper
