Half-birds, half-beautiful maidens, the Sirens were singing enchantresses capable of luring passing sailors to their islands, and, subsequently, to their doom. Daughters of the river god Achelous and a Muse, they were fated to die if anyone should survive their singing. When Odysseus passed them unharmed, they hurled themselves into the sea and were drowned.

This fade set shows the lightness of the otherworldly songs the sirens sing upon the rocks luring the sailors to their dark watery deaths.

Recommended needle size 2.5 mm - 4 mm

Gauge (stockinette) 28 stitches x 36 rows over 10 cm/4 inches on 3.25 mm (US 3) needles

Hand dyed in Texas in small batches

Please hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry for best color retention.  Dyes may bleed slightly on initial washing.  Always test your gauge swatch for dyes bleeding when combining colors.
