 The Kiss (1907/08) by Gustav Klimt

This famous painting represents the apex of Klimt's “Golden Period” when the artist developed a new technique of combining gold leaf with oils and bronze paint.

The large, gold-filled painting that depicts a couple in an intimate embrace and has many possible interpretations. One being a perfect union between man and woman with both merging together. Here, man and woman connect with the earth and the cosmos, guided by the power holding everything together: love.

The painting hangs on display in Vienna's Belvedere complex.

About the yarn:

Not just for socks or hats. This base is versatile; nice and soft, but tough. If not for socks, a hat, a one and  almost 1/2 skein wonder shawl/bandana... or just add to your stash and keep to use for colorwork on a sweater. 

• Fingering weight 4 ply Superwash 19.5 micron Extra Fine Australian Merino 85%, Nylon 15%
• Mulesing Free
• Spun in Italy
• Recommended needle size 2.5 mm - 4 mm
• Gauge (stockinette) 28 stitches x 36 rows over 10 cm/4 inches on 3.25 mm (US 3) needles

FULL SKEIN

• Approximately 100 grams/400 meters or 3.5 oz./437 yards

MINI SKEIN

• 20 grams/80 meters or 87 yards each

⚜️Hand dyed in Texas in small batches

⚜️Please hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry for best color retention.  Dyes may bleed slightly on initial washing.  Always test your gauge swatch for dyes bleeding when combining colors.
